Even though I just shared all of the work I have done in the program, there are many more people I would like to thank for helping me along the way. It is because of them that I have grown into the professional I am today and I credit them with providing me the support along the way.
My Supervisors
I have had a lot over the past 2 years, but each one of them holds a special place in my heart and has taught me lessons that I will forever remember. Sarah, Hillary, Kristen, Maria, Ryan, and Caraline, you have been full of knowledge, compassion, and steady support for growth as I found my voice and developed my passions. Thank you.
My HRL Family
It's been a roller coaster! From the busy times to the fun times and with all the struggles and all the laughs, each of you have helped me in my growth here at Virginia Tech. Thank you for your constant support and willingness to allow me to shake things up a bit. Thank you.
Aaron + Kate
Alaska still seems like a dream, one that I often want to go back to and relive all over again. I deeply thank you for the time of my life and I hope we will all get together again and partake in reindeer sausage and bear pancakes. Love you both. Thank you.
The SpiceGrads
We did it! It's been a fun two years and I have loved being with you every step of the way! Each of you are very special to me and I am excited to see where the next adventure takes us! Spice up your life! Thank you.
My Students
I won't even try to begin to recount how much each of you has taught me about myself both personally and professionally. Though we had some challenges, for sure, ultimately it was the good times that made me privileged to be a part of your journey. It is because of you and your passions that I will continue to do what I do. Thank you.
My Friends and Family
It goes without saying that you support me in my adventures whatever they may be. But your actions speak louder and are very much appreciated. To Sam, Jake, Kayla, and Nick, thank you for being just a phone call or a text away and helping me navigate my grad school struggles. Mom, Dad, Jessica, Ryan, Steven, and Ben, thank you for your positive thoughts, prayers, and patience as I went MIA while working on assignments or traveling 5 timezones away. You mean the world to me and I love you all. Thank you.
The Virginia Tech Higher Education Program & My Cohort
Last but certainly not least, I want to thank the Higher Education Program for giving me this opportunity. Virginia Tech was the only program that gave me an interview and I am so very thankful for the opportunity to find a home here. Thank you to all of my professors, especially Claire, who challenged me in many ways and molded me in preparation to make an impact. Thank you for your dedication to this work and I look forward to working with you again someday. Thank you.
